Games This Weekend

LUMBERTON over LITTLE CYPRESS-MAURICEVILLE —The Battlin’ Bears are coming down to the nitty-gritty of the 2022 regular season and will position themselves for the state playoffs that begin in two weeks. The Raiders have been the surprise team of the area, like LCM was last season. The momentum for the post-season could begin Friday with an upset victory at Lumberton.

SILSBEE over BRIDGE CITY—This will be Silsbee’s final home game this season and the Tigers want to show their fans exactly why they are the top team in District 9-4A and perhaps entire Southeast Texas.

ORANGEFIELD over KIRBYVILLE—The Bobcats continue to overpower the competition each week and they also want to give their loyal supporters a great final home game at F.L. McClain Stadium Friday night. And they should do it.

VIDOR over HUFFMAN—The Pirates need to win this road game at Huffman Friday night to insure a lofty position in the first round of the state playoffs.

DEWEYVILLE over SABINE PASS—The top priority for the Pirates in this mismatch is to not get anybody hurt. The scoreboard should take care of itself.

NICHOLLS STATE OVER LAMAR---The Cardinals had their best chance of avoiding a winless season last week against Prairie View A&M and it didn’t work out for them. This team of Colonels will be much saltier and tougher to nail down that first win of the season.

SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA over McNEESE STATE—My Cowboys finally played a half-decent game Saturday against Nicholls State and barely came up short 40-35. The Lions will not be any less of an opponent this week with similar results.
