Lloyd Irving McLellan, 97, of Pinehurst, passed away October 29, 2022.

Lloyd was the son of Charles McLellan and Ethel McLellan (Smith). He was born August 20, 1925, on a ship transporting bananas, headed to Staten Island, New York. Lloyd proudly served in World War II and the Korean War.

He received his final discharge in 1956. Lloyd was a stationary engineer, he was employed by Phillips Petroleum and retired with Huber Corp in 1987. Lloyd enjoyed golfing, he was a member of DERA and then Sunset Grove but had to give it up at the age of 91. Lloyd was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (Schwarzentruber) McLellan; his son, David McLellan; and his grandson, Ian D. Fultz.

He is survived by his children, Diane Fultz and husband Herb, Carol Wade and husband Jack, Charles McLellan and wife Sherry, and Alan McLellan and wife Susanne; grandchildren, Renee (Fultz) Guy and husband Lucas, Lisa Chadwell and partner Heath Haines, Kyle Chadwell, Kimberley (McLellan) Honig and husband Dennis, Kelley McLellan, Robert McLellan, and Thomas McLellan; great-grandchildren, Reese Knightington, Paislee Chadwell, Tom Honig and Luke Honig; and an extending family of nieces and nephews.


Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
