Jeanette Ann Egan, 85, of Orange, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2022.

Visitation will be Tuesday November 15, 2022, at 12:00 p.m., funeral service at 2:00pm at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Jimmy Clark and Reverend Derick Addison. Burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Garden Orange, Texas.

Born on November 23, 1936, in Port Arthur, Texas, she was the daughter of Jules and Matilda Broussard and Viola Broussard and was one of thirteen siblings. Maw-maw always had a story, or joke to tell about her childhood memories, and would often stay up late at night just to get more playing time to beat her sister. Glenda score on the game they both loved to play. In 1958, on Valentine’s Day, Jeanette and Doug Egan married and built a beautiful life and family with their three daughters, Frankie, Wendy and Stormy. As the years went by, Maw-maw and Paw-paw moved to the lake where the best memories were made with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maw-maw loved sitting on the back porch with a cup of hot coffee, loved working in the garden, going to the casino, shopping, and most of all-a good, long nap. She was not only voted most beautiful in school but, was the queen and matriarch to our family.


Preceded in death by her husband, Doug Egan; parents; brothers, Merlin and Chester Broussard; and sister, Zona Broussard.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three daughters, Frankie and Burt Fare, Wendy and Raylan Riley and Stormy Abrego; grandchildren, Sean and Sarah Riley, Jessica and DJ Montgomery, DJ and Tanya Broussard, Wayne Garcia, Chase and Bethany Abrego, Leann Garcia, Kayley and Seth Gamblin and Sarah Fare; great-grandchildren, Ansley, Abby, Reid, Jaselyn, Maddox, Carson, Aubree, Anastyn, CJ, Ryan, Jaiden, Allyson, Sam, Sophia and Lincoln. Siblings, Rhonda Courmier, Glenda Reeves, Cynthia Sartin, Bud Broussard, Ronnie Broussard, Junior Broussard, Wanda Staley, Shirley Broussard and Amy Mondragon; sister-in laws, Latance and Johnnie; best friend, Judy and several nieces and nephews who all held a special place in her heart.


Serving as pallbearers will be Sean Riley, DJ Montgomery, DJ Broussard, Wayne Garcia, Chase Abrego and Seth Gamblin.

Honorary pallbearer will be Reid Montgomery.
