Joseph "Joe" Louis Barnes, 63, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on November 4, 2022, at St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on September 2, 1959, he was the son of William Barry Barnes and Marie Catherine Schuchman Barnes.

Joseph loved to fish, watch racing, and loved going to the Evadale races. He loved watching his favorite JJ Da Boss on Street Outlaws. One of his pastimes was playing pool at Stixx Pool Hall, in Orange, Texas hanging out with all his buddies. He was deemed as "pops" to them all! They will surely miss seeing him out there.

Not many people would know this about him, but he was a great artist and did great leatherwork. It was such a true talent. Small tidbit He had the prettiest handwriting for a man. You will be missed and memories cherished. We little knew that day, God was going to call your name. In life you were loved dearly, In death, you are still loved. It breaks our heart to lose you. You did not go alone.

For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. We will cherish the memories, even though we cannot see you, you will be in our hearts. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie Barnes; brothers, Billy Barnes, Alvin Barnes, Michael Barnes; sisters, Geraldine Barnes, Abigail Barnes Espinoza, Florence Barnes Rabon; and his namesake and nephew, George Joseph Espinoza "Jojo".

Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory his brother, Larry Barnes; nieces, Angela Burke of Port Neches, Texas, Christina "Nina" Barnes Wilcox of Vidor, Texas, Michelle Anne Espinoza of Paragould, Arkansas, Shawna Rabon Bullard of Conway, South Carolina; nephews, Michael "Mikey" Barnes of Lockhart, Texas, Bo Mcglothlin of Vidor, Texas, Alvin "Barry" Barnes, Jr. of Beaumont, Texas, Tracey Barnes of Vidor, Texas, Aubery Worth of Conway, South Carolina; friend and loved one Mindy Leblanc of Port Neches, Texas; and devoted friends, Shane Runnels, Brandi and Jarrod Barlow, Edith and Brenden Barlow.
