(ORANGE, TX) Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center will once again usher in the holiday season with the 2022 Christmas Strolls and Community Food Drive event. This FREE family-friendly event welcomes visitors with colorful displays throughout the Gardens, along with lighted community-decorated Christmas trees.

You are cordially invited to join us for a leisurely stroll through our illuminated landscapes to celebrate the holiday season. Christmas Strolls run from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (last entry at 8:30 p.m.) during select evenings in December. This year, in addition to the International Paper sponsored Community Decorate-A-Tree event, each week of Christmas Strolls will feature a different theme. December 6-10 is PJ week! Wear your family coordinated PJ’s, and bring a pair to support the Lutcher Theater’s PJ and Blanket drive. December 13-17 is the time to pull out those Ugly Christmas Sweaters! National Ugly Sweater Day is December 16 after all. For the finale of strolls, December 20 and 21, Crazy Christmas Hats will be the theme. Free State Cellars will be onsite selling seasonal offerings, and Orange Lions Club will be selling hot chocolate and sweets.

Admission to Shangri La Gardens is FREE. We do ask that you please consider donating non-perishable food items to Orange Christian Services to support those in greatest need throughout our community. We will be collecting non-perishable food items December 1-21 during normal garden hours, and during Christmas Strolls. Christmas Strolls are a great way to celebrate the Christmas season with family and friends. Please come out, enjoy the beautifully decorated Christmas trees created by talented members of our community, and make Christmas Strolls at Shangri La Gardens a family tradition.

Located at 2111 West Park Avenue in Orange, Texas, Shangri La Gardens is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday FREE of charge from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (last entry at 4:30). For more information call 409-670-9113 or visit shangrilagardens.org.
