Leola Mae LaFleur, 90, Orange

Leola Mae LaFleur, 90, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 4, 2022, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 a.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Elton, Louisiana, on April 11, 1932, she was the daughter of Batson LaFleur and Bessie (Sloan) LaFleur. Leola was a longtime member of Hartburg Baptist Church in Deweyville. She was a woman of great faith and found joy in teaching Sunday school and vacation Bible school, as well as serving as the WMU director at church. Leola also enjoyed sewing and was a very talented seamstress. She was proud to have made her daughter’s wedding gown, along with gowns for other family members. Leola loved spending time tending to her flowerbeds and cooking. Her family will always cherish their memories of her baking around Christmastime. Leola was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Curtis Joseph LaFleur; and her sisters, Hilda Cart and Elaine Martindale.

Leola is survived by her children, Patricia Brown and husband Frank of Orange, and Glen LaFleur and wife Bert of Orange; her grandchildren, Jeff Brown, Rodrick LaFleur, and Jerry Brown; her great-grandchildren, Sheldon LaFleur, Payton LaFleur, Nate Brown, Micah Brown, and Mia Brown; her siblings, Lloyd LaFleur and wife Rita, Irvin LaFleur and wife Alice, Louela Day, and Linda Richard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Brown, Rodrick LaFleur, Jerry Brown, Sheldon LaFleur, Payton LaFleur, and Tim LaFleur. Honorary pallbearers will be Mia Brown, Nate Brown, and Micah Brown.
