Timothy “T.J” “Pops” James Downs, 73, of Kountze, Texas, passed away on December 9, 2022, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.

Born in Welling, West Virginia, on January 18, 1949, he was the son of Charles Wesley Downs and Florence Rose (Horn) Downs. Timothy worked for the Louisiana Pacific for many years. He loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and working on cars. Timothy also found great joy in shooting pool and socializing with his friends that he loved dearly. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family. Timothy was a wonderful father, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Naomi Brumfield and Georgia Sontag; and his brother, Chuck Downs.

He is survived by his loving children, Mary Ethel Brewer of Silsbee, Timothy Down II of Kountze, and Mary Edna Downs of New Braunfels; his grandchildren, Rachel Paulus, Daniel Paulus and wife Mariah, and Jennifer Perry and husband Cameron; his great-grandchildren, Easton Claypool, Eli Paulus, and Wyatt Paulus; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
