Lady Bobcats battling to make post season

Kaylea Gravett was a leading scorer for the Lady Bobcats against Hardin with 10 points while also making 5 steals, handing out 4 assists, and grabbing 3 rebounds in the game

The last week of the district schedule for the Orangefield Lady Bobcats starts this week. The Lady Bobcats played at Warren on Tuesday and take on the East Chambers Lady Buccaneers on Friday at Orangefield before closing with the Anahuac Lady Panthers on the road next week.

Orangefield (5-6) is battling for the fourth and final playoff position in District 22-3A. The Lady Bobcats split their two games last week losing by one point 45-44 to Buna and defeating Hardin 51-34.

On Wednesday against Buna the Lady Bobcats got strong games from Harleigh Rawls and Greenlea Oldham. Rawls scored 13 points, assisted on 3 other baskets, had 4 rebounds, and made a steal. Oldham registered 12 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, blocked 2 shots, and had a steal.

The Lady Bobcats' Brianna Moore scored 6 points, made 4 rebounds, blocked a shot, and had a steal. Charlee Sanches and Steelye Franklin both had 3 points in the loss to the Lady Cougars.


Kaylea Gravett was a standout in Friday's game between Orangefield and Hardin. Gravett scored 10 points, made 5 steals, handed out 4 assists, and grabbed 3 rebounds. Rawls finished in double figures with 10 points.

Other good contributions were made by several Lady Bobcats. Franklin was the third highest scoring Lady Bobcat with 8 points combined with 4 steals and 3 rebounds. Oldham led Orangefield in rebounds with 10 and was one of three Lady Bobcats with 6 points. The other two were Brooklyn Wagoner and Kennedy Thibodeaux.
