David Wayne Theis, 81, of Groves, passed away on February 13, 2023, peacefully at home.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2023, at The Courtyard, 4321 Lincoln Ave, Groves, Texas, 77619.

Born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, on July 17, 1941, he was the son of Earl Theis and Marilla (Nolan) Theis. David was a wonderful and hardworking man. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandkids, who lovingly called him “Pa-Paw”. David enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was washing everyone’s cars or working in the yard. He would take his travel trailer to the lake when he could and go fishing. David will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Marilla Theis; and sister Jennie Williams.

He is survived by his loving wife Rita Theis; daughters, Karen Theis, and Kelly Brown and husband Stewart; son Jeff Theis and wife Angela; grandchildren, Jessica Baca, Jarrod Brown, Jenny Brown, Alex Fadhli, Maggie Theis, and Travis Theis; and great-grandchildren, Olivia Baca, Madeline Baca, and Anna Fadhli.

Cremation is under the direction of Simple Tributes in Orange.
