JoAnn Denmon, age 80, of Orange, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 15 2023, surrounded by loved ones, Funeral services will be held at Dorman Funeral Home, Friday February 17, 2023 at 2:00pm. Friends and family will gather for visitations from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, prior to the funeral service. A graveside interment will follow at Autumn Oaks.

JoAnn was born on Monday, March 9, 1942 in Orange, Texas, to parents Robert William Freeman and Ruby Freeman Hebert. Preceding JoAnn in death are her parents, and Step father Fred Hebert and Husband Floyd Denmon, brothers Chester Freeman, Bobby Sarver and Sister Carrie Franklin. JoAnn is survived by brothers Reuben Freeman and wife Shirley, Louis Freeman wife Sue, sister Myrtle (Sissy) Freeman and Sister-in-law Francis Freeman. Children Bobbie Shelton and girlfriend Beth Strickland, Troy Shelton, Shon Shelton and wife Tina, Chad Shelton and wife Carrie, Milton Denmon and wife Sunhwa, Susan Hargrove and husband Hardy, and Eddie Denmon. Grandchildren Whitney Monek and husband Michael, Ty Shelton and wife Dana, Dustin Shelton, Mysti Strickland, Emily Vines and husband Jace, Lance Shelton, Blair Shelton, Lucas Shelton, Chad Denmon and wife Kindall, Charla Denmon, Kendra Avery and husband Dallas, Cassaundra Lemire and husband Chad, Jason Denmon, Jacklyn Carroll and husband Herb, Jennifer Denmon , Justin Denmon and wife Christina. JoAnn was blessed with 29 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

JoAnn was known for her kind heart and her willingness to drop anything to support her family and friends. She was always there to lend a listening ear, offer great advice, and provide comfort and encouragement to those who needed it.

JoAnn was a strong woman who raised four boys. Throughout the year she spent countless hours cheering on her boys and dedicating hours of fundraising and support through their teams at Westco Little League.

JoAnn was an active member of the TOPS group for over 20 years. She always won Miss Congeniality and was loved by all. She had a great smile and a witty personality that brightened up any room she entered. Joann loved playing card games such as Canasta and Rummy, and she enjoyed visiting with friends and family and watching her favorite soap operas at the Silver Fox. JoAnn also loved taking trips to the beach with her family.

JoAnn's memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and all who knew her. Her love and kindness will always be remembered, and her legacy will continue to inspire others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
