Charles Leroy Bloomfield, 81, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on February 26, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas.

Officiating will be Reverend Jeff Bell. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on August 7, 1941, he was the son of Arvel Leroy Bloomfield and Nellie Vivian (Miller) Bloomfield. Charles proudly served in the United States Army as a military police officer before working as an electrician for Gulf States.

During his free time, he enjoyed fishing and gardening, specifically tomatoes and cucumbers. Charles’ family remembers him being quite the collector of just about everything. He loved spending time with his grandkids, especially when they were piddling around outside. Charles’ loved ones will go on to cherish the memories they have with him forever.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Pruett; his father, Arvel Bloomfield; and mother, Nellie Bloomfield.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Gayle Bloomfield; daughter, Ellen “Missy” Melisa Crumpler and husband, Joshua; son-in-law, Brad Pruett and wife, Marianne; grandchildren, Blake Pruett, Mason Pruett, Kynedi Crumpler, Sydnie Crumpler, and Madyson Crumpler; brother, Jerry Bloomfield and wife, JoAnne; many nieces and nephews; and numerous other loving friends and family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Pruett, Brad Pruett, James Reid Boehm, Joshua Crumpler, Kevin Bloomfield, and Mason Pruett.

Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Boehm and Rudy Miller.
