Norris Paul Jacques Brandon, Sr., 89, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on February 26, 2023, in Nederland, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 3, 3023, at First Baptist Church of Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Dale Lee. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will begin prior to the service at 12:30 p.m., Friday, March 3, at First Baptist Church of Bridge City.

Born in Barataria, Louisiana, on March 3, 1933, he was the son of August Frank Brandon and Ophelia (Verdin) Brandon. Norris dedicated his life to God and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Bridge City. He proudly served in the United States Army and later went on to work in the Texaco refineries for 42 years before his retirement. Norris was an active member in The United States Jaycee’s Foundation. He always wanted to spend his free time outdoors, either on the water or in the woods. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, squirrel hunting, and he was an avid gardener. Norris also took great pride in his poetry. He loved Bridge City Cardinal sports, but he especially loved football. He spent several years coaching for Peewee Football. Norris’ family remembers him being a hands-on father, making sure to attend every practice, game, and event. He loved seeing people laugh and was always joking around. Norris’ loved ones will always cherish the memories they have with him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Brandon; parents, August and Ophelia Brandon; brother, August Joseph Brandon; and brother-in-law, Ed Quinn.

He is survived by his daughter, Evelyn Brandon and fiancй, Reverend Kelly Sharpton; son, Paul Brandon, Jr. and wife, Pauline; granddaughter, Ciara Brandon; sister, Mabel Quinn; and numerous other loving friends and family members.

Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Brandon, Randy Zampini, Reverend Kelly Sharpton, Joe Brandon, Chuck Brandon, and Paul Marcotte. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Ducote and Jim Brackin.
