Shangri La sets Community Fun Walk in April

Families will be able to have a special stroll through Shangri La Botanical Gardens and have a picnic breakfast as the nature center, along with the Salvation Army's Boys and Girls Club hold the second annual Community Fun Walk on Saturday, April 8.

Registration is now open through Shangri La's website for the special morning event that will include a booklet of family-friendly activities with a guide through the mile-long pathway through the gardens. In addition to learning about nature plus the flora and fauna, participants will learn about the importance of health habits and exercise.

After completing the walk, they will have a picnic breakfast to enjoy on the Great Lawn area. The walk, along with breakfast, are free. The sponsors are Shangri La, Chevron Phillips Chemical, plus the Orange County Salvation Army and the Boys and Girls Club.

Registrants will check in at the welcoming center from 9:15-9:45 a.m., with the fun walk starting at 9:45 a.m. Breakfast will be served from 10:15-11:15 a.m.
