George Edward Dillard, 75, of Houston, Texas, passed away on March 8, 2023, at Oakwood Manor in Vidor.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Frank Young.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Houston, Texas, on January 13, 1948, he was the son of Jerome “Buck” Dillard and Eva Lorena (Reynolds) Kilsby. George was a veteran of the United States Army and served for 11 years. He fought with the 101st Airbourne Division in the Vietnam War and received two purple hearts, among other honors, for his service. George loved fishing, camping, and watching The Dallas Cowboys and The Houston Oilers. In his free time, he also enjoyed shooting pool and watching 007 movies and western films. George will be missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his father, Buck Dillard; mother, Eva Lorena Kilsby; brothers, Buster Dillard and Benjamin Ray Dillard; sister, Georgia Mae Allen; grandson, Joe Buck Walker; and nephews, Brian and Glen Allen.

He is survived by his daughters, Shana Walker and Cresta Dillard and partner Johnny Hartless, Jr.; grandchildren, Jessica Walker, Ethan Walker and wife Swan, and Hunter Beall; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Eva Jo Phillips, Rebeca Anderson, and Francis Wagenshutz; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his good friend, Army buddy, and brother-in-law, Roy Pinner and wife Carrol.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Wound Warrior Project, Texas Veteran Commission, or a local veterans group of your choosing.
