Lady Bobcats lose to Anahuac in district

The Orangefield Lady Bobcats suffered their first district loss on Friday, March 10, when the Anahuac Lady Panthers came to Paul Cormier Field. The Lady Bobcats lost 10-5 to the undefeated Lady Panthers who are 3-0 in district.

Earlier in the week Orangefield improved their district record to 2-0 on Tuesday, March 7. Orangefield defeated the Lady Wildcats 3-1 at Kirbyville.

Pitcher Abigail Curphey led the way for the Lady Bobcats holding Kirbyville to just one run. Curphey yielded three hits and struck out seven Lady Wildcats.

The game was tied 1-1 in the top of the seventh when Orangefield scored the two deciding runs. Rylee Dougay had a hit and scored a run. Harleigh Rawls hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh to bring home one of the runs. Hallee Becker and Rawls scored the other two runs in the game for the Lady Bobcats.

This week Orangefield played at East Chambers on Tuesday, March 14. The Lady Bobcats face Warren on Friday at Paul Cormier Field.
