Linda Ruth McClanahan, 81, Orange

Linda Ruth McClanahan, 81, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 22, 2023, peacefully at home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 27, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Robert Wenner. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks in Orange.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on December 1, 1941, she was the daughter of Allen Fox and Amy “Norma” Fox (LeJune). Linda was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a very talented at puzzles, crafting, and cooking. Linda loved to sew and even would sew clothes for her grands. She loved her family very much and would do anything for them. In her free time, she enjoyed being able to paint beautiful pictures, was always laughing at a joke, and made sure to put a smile on everyone’s face when she could. She would relax by watching sports, especially football or golf. Linda will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Norma Fox; husband, Terry McClanahan; infant daughter, Amanda McClanahan; son, Gary McClanahan; brother, Leo Fox; and sisters, Wanda Venable and Aggie Warnock.

She is survived by her children, Charlotte and husband Ricky Waldrep, Cathy McClanahan, James and wife Donna McClanahan, Susan and husband Stoney Sportsman, Mary and husband Brian Guidry, and Margaret Grimes and spouse Felix Ocasio; siblings, John and Carolyn Fox and Philliphs Fox; grandchildren, Slade McClanahan, Mahala McClanahan, Minda Lee Ponthieu, Kristi Cart, Brianna Cart, Samantha Grimes, Koby Grimes, and Tabatha Grimes; great-grandchildren, Ariona, Faith, Eva, Fisher, and Braxton; as well as a large number of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Waldrep, Brian Guidry, Felix Ocasio, Randy McClanahan, Avery Henry, and Stoney Sportsman.

Honorary pallbearers are Donna McClanahan, Don Dickerson, and Kenneth Wood.
