Born in Orangefield, Texas, on April 5, 1923, she was the daughter of James Cay McGill and Audrey Ella (Harmon) McGill. Mrs. Jimmy worked in administration for Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. She was a woman of great faith and a member of Winfree Baptist Church. Mrs. Jimmy read the bible daily and shared the word of God with anyone she could reach. During her free time, she enjoyed going out to eat and staying active. She also loved to play cards and would host card games weekly. One of Mrs. Jimmy’s favorite things to do was exploring new places alongside her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jimmy spent her last few days surrounded by her family. She was still telling them what to do and giving advice. Mrs. Jimmy told Kensley she was going to a better place. She then told Cash they had made a lot of good memories together. When Layton was told Grandma would be going to Heaven, Layton said “Heaven’s house”. Mrs. Jimmy’s loved ones treasure the time they had with her and will miss her dearly.
