Sondra Lea Enloe Hamilton, 81, of Orange, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 10, 2023.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at Pecan Acres Baptist Church. Officiating will be Doyle Enloe and Jared Hollier.

Born in Orange, Texas, on October 20, 1941, she was the daughter of Lee Merce and Ruth (Carter) (Enloe) Gunn.

Sondra started school at St. Mary on Cherry Street. She continued her school days here in Orange until her senior year when she moved to Many, Louisiana where she graduated. However, she was always considered a part of the famous Stark Class of ’59.

All our lives us kids would hear about how wonderful it was growing up in those times and how incredible each of her classmates were.

Mom was a longtime member of Pecan Acres Baptist Church. She loved her walk with Jesus deeply, always praying for someone. She loved her church family very much. There weren’t too many things mom couldn’t do. She hung wallpaper all over Orange County, she painted, sewed, crocheted, knitted, and loved playing Rummy. Man oh man she could cook! Whatever she set her mind on she did it and did it well.

Mom had so many different friends from all walks of life. She was always helping, doing, and caring for others. Mom was a wonderful wife, mom, nana, and friend. A true example of a servant.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Lee Merce and Ruth (Carter) (Enloe) Gunn; sister, Gloria Faye (Enloe) Dotson; son, Troy Hamilton; niece and nephews, Dana (Dotson) Hargrave, Donnie Dotson, and Carter Dotson.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Hamilton; sons, Randy and wife Hazel Small, Craig and wife Lori Small; daughters, Christine and husband Richard (Diesel) Durkin all of Orange, Mindi and husband Robert George of Tennessee; grandchildren, Cody and wife Kristen Small, Cole and wife Jenna Durkin, Justin and wife Allison Small, Ben and wife Cynthia Adams, Callie and husband Damon Burton, Calah Adams, Jon, Janey, and Julian Small; great grandchildren, Aubrey Small, Maggie Burton, Isla and Elizabeth Durkin, and Milo Adams; as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A grateful thanks to our precious JoJo.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Cody Small, Cole Durkin, Justin Small, Jon Small, Julian Small, Ben Adams, Jeff Lummus and Winn Enloe.
