Brycen Tait of the Orangefield Bobcats pitched a shutout against Kirbyville to stretch the Bobcats' district win streak to eight games

The Orangefield Bobcats remain undefeated and in first place in District 22-3A as the second half of the district schedule has started. The weather postponed one game so the Bobcats only played on Tuesday of last week.

The Bobcats defeated the Kirbyville Wildcats 10-0 on Tuesday, April 4, at Paul Cormier Field in Orangefield. Pitcher Brycen Tait threw a shutout on a four-hitter with no walks and seven strikeouts.

After tallying a run in the first inning the Bobcats added five more runs in the next three innings to take a 6-0 lead after four innings. Orangefield notched four runs in the fifth to invoke the ten-run rule ending the game.

The Bobcats banged out twelve hits in the game. Kane Smith had three hits while Rusten Traxler, Adam Tran, and Logan Cheek each had a pair of base hits.

Orangefield is 17-3 on the season and 8-0 in district. The game with East Chambers has been postponed from last week.

Two road games are on the schedule this week. The Bobcats traveled to Warren on Tuesday and go to Buna for an important game on Friday.
