Russell “Rusty” Wolfford, 64, of Orange, Texas, passed away on April 16, 2023, at his home.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 24, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange. Officiating will be Father Anthony Paulose. Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on August 18, 1958, he was the son of Roland Matt Wolfford and Shirley Ann (Seeley) Wolfford. Rusty was a man of great faith and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was in the last graduating class of Stark High School and went on to graduate from Lamar University. He worked as a highly skilled mechanic for Tarver Marine Performance. During his free time, Rusty enjoyed taking road trips, racing, fishing, or just spending time on the river. He was a member of the Orange Boating Club and was known for driving his boat a little too fast at times. Rusty loved to barbeque and cook, especially his special fried turkey. He was an avid music lover and very fond of concerts. Rusty was a fun and loving husband, brother, and son. His loved ones will miss him deeply and cherish their memories of Rusty forever.


He is preceded in death by his father, Roland Wolfford.

He is survived by his wife of almost 10 years, Deborah Wolfford; mother, Shirley Wolfford; step-son, Kelby Simpson and wife, Tana; furbaby, Mazi; siblings, Tim Wolfford and wife, Laura, Jerry Wolfford and wife, Mary, Cheri Wolfford Billiot and husband, Orlean, and Eric Wolfford and wife, Charlotte; nieces and nephews, Chris Wolfford and wife, Jenny, Eddie Wolfford and wife, Alicia, Jeremy Wolfford and wife, Loudani, Tiffany Wolfford and husband, Steven Salasbury, Jacob Baggett and wife, Emily, Baylee Richards and husband, Shea, Logan Billiot, Adrian Wolfford and wife, Kira, Aaron Wolfford, and Austyn Wolfford and wife, Madelyn; in-laws, Carolyn Dempsey and husband, Steve, Brian Morrow and wife, Beverly, and Stephanie Nichols and husband, Jeremy, and Delbert Georgia Taylor; step-grandchildren, Korbin Simpson, Kolton Simpson, and Saylor Holmes; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.

Serving as pallbearer will be Tim Wolfford.

Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Wolfford, Eric Wolfford, Mike Murphy, Kelby Simpson, and Raymond Parish.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange, 912 West Cherry Avenue, Orange, Texas 77630.
