Joshua Vargas, 20, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on April 15, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Cremation will follow under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Joshua was born on November 5, 2002, in Port Arthur, Texas. He worked in construction for STI Group, but in his spare time, Joshua enjoyed fishing and listening to his favorite music. Joshua had an infectious smile and a great sense of humor. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and his little dog, Taco.

Joshua especially loved his family and looked forward to family gatherings on holidays and other special events.

His family and friends will cherish the memories they have of Joshua and will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Eugenia Aguilar; and great-grandfather, José Jesus Diaz.

He is survived by his parents, Mario and Gloria Vargas; grandparents, Flor and Jose Aguilar, and Eva and Rafael Vargas; siblings, Aiden Vargas and Logan Vargas; his loving aunts and uncles, the Aguilar, McMains, Gutierrez, Labrada, Gardenhire, Vargas, Dionne, Shaffer, and Janak families, as well as numerous other family and friends.
