James "Jim" Walter Miles, 73, Orange

James “Jim” Walter Miles, 73, of Orange, Texas, passed away on May 4, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 12, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Brother Bobby Edwards of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor. Burial will follow at Waldrep Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Claybar Funeral Home.

Born in Williamsburg, Kentucky, on January 8, 1950, he was the son of Walter B. Miles and Charline (Jones) Miles. Jim was a hardworking man that spent many years as a technician in the shipyard industry. He also enjoyed volunteering as the president of the Thrift and Gift Shop in Orange. Jim was very intelligent and loved computers. He was known by his family and friends for his strong-willed nature and his ability to fix anything. Jim was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.


He is preceded in death by his father, Walter B. Miles; his brother, Dana Miles; his stepchildren, Eddie Smith, Kathy Foreman, and Angie Bradley; his sister, Diane Miles; his niece, Char’Lena Williams; and his nephew, Anthony “Tiny” Schultz.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Barbara (Waldrep) Miles; his mother, Charline Miles; his daughter, Ginnger Lickorai and husband, Mike; his son, Michael Foreman and wife, Rae Lynn; his granddaughter, who was like a daughter to him, Audrey Bendo and husband, Joe; his sisters, Kathy Waldrep and husband, Ronnie, his sister Brenda Burke and husband, Doak, Ada Williams and husband, Pat, and Theresa Barbo and husband, Jerry; his 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and his 7 great-great-grandchildren; as well as his dear friend, Edgar Wooten.


Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Bellett, Michael Foreman II, Sean Foreman, Ondie Ladner, Joe Bendo, and Jason Waldrep. Honorary pallbearer is Dana Miles.
