Sharon Thompson, 76, of Orange, Texas, passed peacefully May 4, 2023, with her husband by her side.

The family will have a memorial at their home to celebrate the amazing human she was on earth, at a later date.

Born in Wilcox, Arizona, on June 23, 1946, she was the daughter of Earl Byrd and Minnie (Crawford) Byrd. Sharon was a respected elementary school teacher in West Orange for many years. She is loved and respectfully missed by her loving family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Minnie Byrd.

She is survived by her hero husband and best friend, Coach David L. Thompson of 49 years; her children, Stacy Deville, Christy Stillwell, Shane Mortensen, Michelle Storms, and Amy Plain; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
