BCISD honors staff for accomplishments

Judith Brownlie was named as one of the regional winners of the Wayne A. Reaud Award for excellence in education.

The Bridge City school district has honored teachers and staff for the 2022-23 school year. Teachers of the Year are Jennifer Fall of Bridge City Elementary, Brittany Lee of Bridge City Intermediate, Marty Taylor of Bridge City Middle, and Daniel Auchenback of Bridge City High.

Fall was named Elementary Teacher of the Year and Auchenback was named Secondary Teacher of the Year.

Judith Brownlie was named as one of the regional winners of the Wayne A. Reaud Award for excellence in education. The special award, which includes a cash prize, goes for educators for their longterm work in the field.

The district also honored retirees Judith Brownlie, Beverly Delahoussaye, Deborah Ellender, Pauline Hall, Mary Heslep, Gina Mannino, Linda Simon, Tammy Stark, and Gay Vela.

Superintendent Dr. Mike Kelley also gave service awards, with Linda Simon of Bridge City Elementary honored for 40 years with the district. Kara Brinson has 30 years of service, with Christi Wiegreffe and Edith Peet recognized for 25 years of service. Those with 20 years of service are Corrin Gonzales, Gina Mannino, Sherry Moore, Betty Diabo, and Kinnley Rodrigue.
