Janet Renee Corder Batt, 62, Formerly of Orange

Born in Orange, Texas. On January 12,1961 and died on May 26, 2023, in College Station, Tx.

She was the daughter of William C. Corder and Ruby F. (Hodgekinson) Corder. Jan worked as a Paramedic with Orange County Ambulance Service and then became a Corrections Sgt in Oklahoma and Texas. Jan earned a degree at Lamar State College becoming a laboratory technician at Orange-Baptist Hospital and Southeast Texas Medical Center before medically retiring.

She was proceeded in death by her mother Ruby Corder and Sister-In-Law, Tenille Corder.

She is survived by her long-time best friend Kelly Griffin, children Dallas A. Batt and Kendra Batt Boudreaux and husband Nathaniel Boudreaux, grandchildren Ryker Boudreaux and Aviana Boudreaux, father William Corder and wife Barbara Corder, siblings, Rebecca Corder, Will Corder and Christopher Corder, sister-in-law Alex Sanchez and step-sister Katie Martinez and husband Antonio. Nieces and nephews Casey Garza and husband Zachary, Sarah Corder, Zach Corder, Vincent Corder-Sanchez, several great nieces and nephews, and of course, fur babies Blanca and Bingo.

Jan's passions were cooking, gardening and entertaining family and friends. She was the life of the party and had the best laugh. She was known for her flamboyant costumes and singing karaoke. She strove to make the world a happier place.

She was fiercely protective of her family and friends, and it was vital to her to spend time with her beloved grandchildren.

She will be loved and missed by all.

A gathering for friends and family will be held at a later date.
