Leon Wayne Terry, 91, Orange

Leon Wayne Terry, 91, of Orange, Texas, passed away on June 11, 2023, in Orange. A graveside service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2023, at Autumn Oaks Cemetery in Orange with burial to follow. Officiating will be Leon’s grandson, Benjamin Terry. Born in Mayfield, Oklahoma, on January 15, 1932, Leon was the son of Owen W. Terry and Maggie Mae Goodwin. Leon had great faith in God and was a long-time member of West Orange Church of Christ. He was employed as a draftsman for Phillips Petroleum Company and was also a skilled handyman who worked in construction. Leon was a gentle and compassionate man and loved to care for the elderly in his neighborhood. He was very proud of his family and loved them deeply. Leon could be found cheering on his kids, grandkids and great grandkids in all of their endeavors. He loved talking about his great grandkids and showing off their pictures to anyone who would listen. He will be dearly missed by his family, but they will carry on his legacy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Owen W. Terry and Maggie Mae Goodwin; and his son, Darrell Wayne Terry. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo (Kramer) Terry; son, Rick Terry and wife, Leslie of Dallas, Texas; daughter-in-law, Toni Terry (spouse of the late Darrell Terry) of Orange; grandchildren, Benjamin Terry and wife, Melinda, Rachel Robison and husband, Chadwick, Aron Yellott, James Terry, and Colleen Terry; great-grandchildren, Isabella Terry, Oliva Terry, Gracelyn Terry, Naomi Terry, Samuel Terry, Daryl Arden Robison, Truman Robison, Mia Yellott, and Mollie Yellott; and sister in-law, Anna Marie; and brother in-law, Marvin Davis of Springfield, Missouri, Maxine Kramer of Midland, Texas and Bette Kramer of Skellytown, Texas.
