A young woman in a wheelchair now has a professional-style ramp to help her get into her house thanks to a united effort of local volunteers. Workers from the Orange Lions Club, Nehemiah's Vision in Vidor, and Orange County Disaster Rebuild worked in the hot sun and sweltering temperatures Saturday and Sunday to build the ramp. The small, wood frame house previously had a sheet of plywood up some steps. The new ramp is built like a deck with railings and designed in sections to give a safe slope for wheelchair use.
