Cardinal cheerleaders, Strutters take honors at camps

The Bridge City High Strutters and cheerleaders racked up many honors recently at the training camps they attended, with the Strutters winning the Grand Championship for best dance team at their camp.

The Strutters went to the ADTS (American Dance/Drill Team) camp and won the Grand Championship, plus the Diamond Super Sweepstakes with for getting the top diamond rating on all their routines. In addition, they won for Best Home Routine with choreography by Macie Moore.

Other team awards went for "most admired team of the day," and the Spirit of ADTS staff award for work ethic, perseverance, positivity and team.

A number of individuals with the Strutters received recognition with Captain Olivia Romero getting "outstanding performer." Romero and Lieutenant Zoee Buchanan were named to the All-American Dance Company.

Team members who earned All-American Dance recognition are Romero, Buchanan, First Lieutenant Addisyn Watts, Lieutenant Raely Ply, Lieutenant Marlee Boyd, Bella Houston, Kaylee DeRouen, and Anaiss Torres.

Junior All-American honors for freshmen went to Hadley Fults, Avery Hernandes, and Landry Theriot. Honorable Mention All-American went to Kaylee Brinson, Karli Cooper, Presley Faulkner, Atalyn Hale, and Eisley Stansbury. Bella Houston was named to the All-American Kick Team.

For the Cardinal varsity cheerleaders, Holly Silveira, Carys Wolfe, Hallie Bearden, and Brenna Powers were named All-American.

The varsity team awards were Best Overall Game Day Championship, fourth place in camp dance routine, one gold superior ribbon, one blue superior ribbon, and two spirit sticks.

Powers was the "Pin It Forward" recipient, plus she and Silveira were participants in the jump-off. Silveira and Wolfe won invitations to the UCA staff.

The junior varsity cheerleaders with All-American recognition are Kyler Dupuis, Izzy Potter, Alexa Soto, Hudsyn Davis, and Madeleine Doyle. Soto and Doyle got "Pin It Forward" honors with Addison Hartjie and Doyle making it to jump-off participant.

Junior varsity team awards were two blue ribbons, two spirit sticks, first in game day camp cheer, and fourth in game day camp dance.
