Jimmie Lee Whitfield, 95, Orange

Jimmie Lee Whitfield, 95, of Orange, Texas, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, August 5, 2023, in Orange, Texas.

Services to honor Jimmie will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 11, 2023, at Dorman Funeral Home.

A visitation of family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, prior to services, at Dorman Funeral Home. An additional service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Monday, August 14, 2023, at Scoggins Funeral Home, 637 W Van Alstyne Pkwy, Van Alstyne, Texas 75495. Rite of Committal and Interment will immediately follow, at Van Alstyne Cemetery. A visitation of family and friends will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, prior to services, at Scoggins Funeral Home.

Jimmie Lee Whitfield was born on May 23, 1928, in Spindletop, Texas, to Edolia Theriot Williams and Clarence Phillip Williams.

On Sunday’s, Jimmie could be found singing in her church choir and also occasionally played guitar, and piano. Her favorite flowers were roses and she loved working in her flower beds. Jimmie also enjoyed quilting and times she was able to go dancing. Most of all, Jimmie loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Preceding Jimmie in death are her parents, Clarence Phillips Williams and Edolia Theriot Williams; sisters, Betty Jean Williams and Irmalee Kent; brother, Wilford Williams; son, George Phillip Whitfield; and daughter, Billy Sue Owens. J

immie is survived by her loving husband, JD Dixon; brother, CP Williams and sister-in-law, Teressa Williams; son, Marvin Whitfield and daughter-in-law, Shirley Whitfield; grandchildren, Jimmy Dewayne, Ricky, Charles Wayne, Michele, Christy, and Melissa; great-grandchildren, Lexi, Jamie, Ashlee, Robert, Jordan, Gabriel, Matthew, and Graham; great-great-grandchildren, Conner, Avery, Kensli, Kha’mari, Carson, and Jaide; and numerous members of extended family, and friends.

Honoring Jimmie has pallbearers are Ricky Rhodes, Charles Rhodes, Jimmy Dewayne, Robert Hernandez, Gabriel Hernandez, and Jordan Cooper.
