Following the service, our family welcomes you to join us in the dinning hall where food and beverages will be provided. Help brighten our lives during this time of tremendous grief by sharing some of your happiest memories made with this remarkable man you knew as D.T. and to us as Daddy. It would truly be an honor to have you all there.

D.T. was born in Alabama on Wednesday, August 31, 1955 to proud parents Alabama James and Phyllis Taylor. Later in life he worked for Dupont as a construction planner and was a member of Colony Baptist Church. Our father was a man like no other. If love, humility and compassion had a form in human then it was him. He was an icon worthy of emulation, a true definition of what a father should be like. He was a hero, a strong support system, a hardworking and strong individual who was always there for his family. He was kind, caring and understanding towards people, and if help was ever needed then it came so freely from him. He was selfless and highly principled, standing firm for what he believed was in the general interest of everyone. We are incredibly grateful to have spent our last moments with him. He was a fighter and he fought his battle so well until he could fight no more because it was time.

D.T. is survived by his oldest daughter Shannel Taylor & fiance Jason Dyson, middle daughter Meritta Dawn Norwood & husband Michael Norwood , youngest daughter Tasha Baumgartner & husband Tony Dale Baumgartner; stepson, Shane Borel; grandchildren Matthew Broussard, Madison Dyson, Davian Cormier, Ashtyn Jenkins; brothers Jimmy Taylor and Jerry Oglesbee; nephews Adam Taylor, Jason Taylor, Brandon Taylor; bonus Dad Fred Hogden and a lifetime of friends and extended family

Our silent tears flow each time we remember he's gone but his loving, caring, fatherly role and legacy will continue to give solace to our humble hearts. The morals and values he taught us will continue to be a guiding light in our lives and the lives of his grandchildren.

Arrangements were made under the care of Dorman Funeral Home.
