Donald Gregory "Greg" Stanley, 62, Brookeland

Donald Gregory “Greg” Stanley, 62, of Brookeland, Texas, passed away on September 21, 2023, peacefully at home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 25, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend John Fortenberry of Calvary Baptist Church in Deweyville. Burial will take place at 12:45 p.m., Monday, September 25, 2023, at Brookeland Cemetery in Brookeland, Texas.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on August 5, 1961, he was the son of Donald Gene Stanley and Patsy June (Braneff) Stanley. Greg was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and worked as a Senior Electrical Designer. Never known to be too serious, Greg had a fun-loving soul and was rarely seen without a smile. He was often the life of the party and liked making everyone laugh. Greg loved following his grandchildren around to sporting events and spending as much time with them as he could. In his free time, he enjoyed going hunting, fishing, and buggy riding. He also enjoyed traveling with the love of his life, Paula, with the highlight of every trip being finding new places to eat. Greg was full of life and made sure everyone was always taken care, he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Patsy Stanley; father and mother-in-law, Warren L. and Thelma Flanigan; and nephew, Ethan Williams.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Paula Stanley; son, Corey Stanley and wife, Stephanie; daughters, Leisha Johnson and husband, Nick, and Amber Stanley and partner, Logan Samson; grandchildren, Taylor Johnson, Easton Stanley, Jase Johnson, and Karson Stanley; siblings, June Harkness and husband, James, and Jana Williams and husband, Jimmy; as well as numerus nieces, nephews, and other loving friends and family.

Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Stanley, Nick Johnson, Logan Samson, Robert Barnes, Zane Williams, Seth Williams, and Kadin Harkness. Honorary pallbearers are Easton Stanley and Jase Johnson.
