Patsy June Reese, 82, Orange

Patsy June Reese, 82, of Orange, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2023, in Orange.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 9, 2023, at Old First Orange Baptist Church in Orange, Texas. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Cemetery in Orange, Texas.

Visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 9, 2023, at Old First Orange Baptist Church in Orange, Texas.

Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on March 8, 1941, she was the daughter of Columbus Garrard and Elizabeth (Lott) Garrard. Patsy was a devout Christian woman who woke up every day serving the Lord. She was a member of Old First Orange Baptist Church for 53 years, serving as their Sunday School Director for many years. Patsy and her husband, Ronald, were also members of Volunteer Christian Builders and spent much of their time after retirement traveling the country to build churches. She was very active around Orange, working with the Orange March of Dimes for over 20 years, which she was very proud of. She was also crowned Rodeo Queen and represented Orange in the Miss Texas Pageant in 1959, winning runner-up. Patsy had a love of singing and taught dance for many years, but above all else, she loved her family and spreading the word of the Lord. She was an incredible woman with a giving heart, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald P. Reese; her parents, Columbus and Elizabeth Gerrard; her son, Randall Selman; her grandson, Ronald Selman; and her great-granddaughter, Emmary Selman.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Carl “Dean” Selman, Jr., and Wynn Reese and wife, Christi; her grandchildren, Carl “Dean” Selman III, Meagan Selman McNamara, Dustin Selman, Morgan Selman Grundtner, and Colton Reese; and her great-grandchildren, Kammi Selman, Austin McNamara, Madison McNamara, Elena Grundtner, Gus Selman, Kooper Selman, and Nathan Grundtner.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dean Selman III, Dustin Selman, Brayden Berry, Meagan Selman McNamara, and Morgan Selman Grundtner. Honorary pallbearers are Kammi Selman, Austin McNamara, Madison McNamara, Elena Grundtner, Gus Selman, Kooper Selman, and Nathan Selman.
