The W.H. Stark House, a gem of historic downtown Orange, invites the public to explore the rich history and stunning craftsmanship of this local treasure during First Floor Friday on October 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors are invited for a self-guided tour of the first floor of the historic Stark family residence, as well as view "Brilliant: Cut Glass from The W.H. Stark House" located on the second floor of the Carriage House. Admission to The W.H. Stark House is free of charge.

Stark House, a true testament to the grandeur of a bygone era, is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and those seeking to immerse themselves in the cultural heritage of Southeast Texas," said Rayanna Hoeft, director of interpretation at The W.H. Stark House. "First Floor Friday allows visitors a rare glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the Stark family."
At First Floor Friday, the public will have the opportunity to view the first floor of the historic home, which includes the library, music room, dining room and breakfast room/office and the Carriage House for the second-floor cut glass exhibit. Materials for a self-guided experience are provided for all visitors. Underwritten by the Stark Foundation, timed tickets are available at the Carriage House on a first-come, first-served basis. Access to the house entrance and second floor exhibition are by stairs. Please note these spaces are not wheelchair or stroller accessible. The last entrance is at 1:30 p.m.
After taking in The W.H.Stark House, visitors are encouraged to explore the other Stark Cultural Venues and take in the fall displays of historic downtown. Visit Shangri La Gardens for Scarecrow Festival, take in the art and history of the American West at the Stark Museum of Art and reserve a seat at your home for Broadway at the Lutcher Theater. Admission to Shangri La Gardens and the Stark Museum of Art is free of charge.
