Novie Jo Williamson, 88, Mauriceville

Novie Jo Williamson, 88, of Mauriceville, Texas, passed away on October 26, 2023, at her home in Mauriceville.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Chaplain Jody Heckathorn. Burial will follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor, Texas.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Center, Texas, on May 13, 1935 she was the daughter of M.T. Snider and Ophelia Vaughn Snider. Novie was a very active and loving mother and grandmother. She adored her family. Novie worked at Vidor State Bank for a little while before driving a school bus for a few years. In later years, she became the owner of Williamson’s House Moving. Novie also enjoyed quilting and working in her flower beds in her spare time.

She is preceded in death by her parents, M.T. and Ophelia Snider; her husband, Dicky Van Williamson, Sr.; her son, Dickey Van Williamson, Jr.; her grandson, Dave Tally; her brothers, Eugene Snider and M.C. Snider; and her sister, Louise Mitchell.

She is survived by her daughters, Angela Raley and husband, Jimmy of Orange, and Renee Williamson and her husband, Aaron Rodriguez of Mauriceville; her grandchildren, Russell Raley, J.B.Tally, Lacie Wisdom, Chandra

Broussard, and Colin Raley; her great-grandchildren, Shelby Grissom, Blade Broussard, Raley Broussard, Grace Tally, Emma Tally, and Brooks Broussard; and her great-great-grandchildren, Avery Grissom and Waylon Broussard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Raley, Aaron Rodriguez, J.B. Tally, Colin Raley, Blade Broussard, and Brooks Broussard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Strong Cemetery, P.O. Box 1383 Center, Texas 75935, or Williamson Cemetery Fund, 320 Stephenson Road, Vidor, Texas 77662.
