Robert “Uncle Bud” Doucet, 70, of Orange, Texas, passed away on November 29, 2023, at home. Visitation will be from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge with a procession to Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery for a graveside service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Father Ernie Carpio of St. Henry Catholic Church. Born in Winnshire, Texas, on April 28, 1953, he was the son of Gaston Doucet and Marie (Thibodeaux) Doucet. Robert worked as a fabricator and welder for many years. He was a longtime member of St. Henry Catholic Church. Robert enjoyed being outside fishing or crabbing. He loved to cook and entertain for his family whenever he could and often loved to dance especially to cajun music. Robert like to refer himself as a doctor since he fixed his chicken’s leg with a q-tip and would also let you know that he had a PhD… a post hole digger. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and even once tried out for the team in the 80’s. Robert had a wonderful and joyful soul and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gaston and Marie Doucet; and brother, Jerry “Steve” Doucet. He is survived by his son, Travis Doucet and wife Becca, and their children, Grady, Delino, and Bree; daughter, Tracie Stephens and husband Matt and their son, Jacob; brother, LJ Doucet and wife Pat; sister-in-law, Mary Doucet; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends and family. Serving as pallbearers will be Lance Doucet, Loren Doucet, Laine Doucet, Colby Doucet, Tell Brown, and Tyne Brown.
