Hometown News For Orange County, Texas

Brandon D. Willingham, 59, Orange

Brandon D. Willingham died on January 3rd, 2024, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. He was known for his practical jokes and funny disposition. He suffered a lifetime of diabetes and later in life kidney failure.

Brandon was born in Sheffield, Alabama in 1964. He shared an adventurous life with his friends, never failing a dare and never backing down from leading the "boys" to do more. He met the love of his life Denise, in 1989, and never looked back.

They shared 2 children together, Roberta Agnes Willingham and Adrian O'Neil Draughn Willingham. Brandon's life was centered around service projects at St. Mary Catholic School or working long hours to support his family. He shared a love of camping with his children and watched them play sports as they grew up.

He was so proud of them both upon entering college life; he knew then they could take care of themselves. He never knew what an impact grandchildren could make until Braylon was born. Anyone who spoke to him in the last seven years could not make a conversation without a "Braylon" story. They were buds always playing together and getting on each other's nerves.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and W.T. Willingham, his sister, Tammy May, and his mother-in-law, Roberta Draughn.

All those left to remember him, his children, nieces, grandson and family members will miss his jokes and laughter.

His immediate family would like to thank Orange County Transportation and Fresenius Dialysis Center for all their time and concern over the years they made the transition through life easier.

Brandon will be cremated under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
