Henry Harrison Ainsworth II, 82, Bridge City

Henry Harrison Ainsworth II, age 82, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024. Funeral services honoring Henry will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 2, 2024 at Liberty Baptist Church of Bridge City with Bro. Terry Wright and Bro. Trey Ainsworth officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 PM at Griggs Cemetery in Newton, Texas. Visitation of family and friends will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church.

Henry was born in Orange, Texas on August 18, 1941 to Jewell Raye (Johnson) and Henry Harrison Ainsworth. He married Nelda Joyce Phelps June 16, 1962. He was a pipefitter by trade, beginning in 1961, up until he retired in 2001 and he was a member of Pipefitters LU 195 of Beaumont, Texas. He enjoyed traveling and loved the holidays when everyone could be together. His family was his passion, but he always stated how important it was to put God first in your life. He served and worshipped at, first Circle Baptist Church and then Liberty Baptist Church in Bridge City. He believed that one should serve the community they lived in and served the area in many ways, including serving on the School Board of Bridge City ISD.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents and his parents-in-law, Jack and Mellie Phelps. Also, preceded in death by brother, Harry Ainsworth; sister, Bootsie Boyett; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ree and Johnny Peavy, brother-in-law, Kenneth Bishop; niece, Gina Patterson; and nephew, Jerad Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nelda Joyce Ainsworth; his son, Henry Harrison “Trey” Ainsworth III and wife Leslie; daughter, Charin Nel Price; grandchildren, Jadon Price and wife Kayla, Laurel Ainsworth, and Mason Price; great-grandchildren, Bryson Powell, Casen Powell, Ryan Price and Graysin Price; sisters, Judy Mouton and husband John, Linda Lansford and husband Hershel, and Sue Jones and husband Jeffrey; sister-in-law, Jaxine Bishop; many loving nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jadon Price, Mason Price, Laurel Ainsworth, Kent Mouton, Dale Mouton, Bruce Lansford and Micha Jones. Honorary pallbearers are the men of Liberty Baptist Church and Members of Pipefitters LU 195/211.
