Rhonda Martin Patricia Brickey, age 64 passed away at her home in Orange. Born in Port Arthur, she was the daughter of Huey and Betty Martin. Rhonda devoted her life to creating a warm and loving home to her loved ones. Born with a love for sports, Rhonda’s journey in basketball began from an early age and continued with that passion to be a devoted fan throughout her life. While sports held a special place in her heart, Rhonda’s talents extended beyond the court. She had an incredible skull for crafting and sewing. Not only did she enjoy creating beautiful things, she also found interest in reading a good John Grisham novel or doing crossword puzzles. She loved taking trips to Galveston; as the beach was another relaxing enjoyment of hers. Above all else, Rhonda cherished spending time with her family. Rhonda spent much of her time with her grandson, from spoiling him, being one of his biggest and loudest supporters in his sporting events; was something she found great joy in. Rhonda always had such a fighting spirit throughout her life. She is preceded in death by her parents Huey and Betty Martin, her daughter Rayla Brickey, her brothers Wendell Martin and Shannon Martin. She is survived by her daughter Shanda and spouse Jonathan and grandson Connor of Mauriceville; her sister Anetha and spouse Johnny of Orangefield. Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
