Frances Ann Walker, 88, Orange

Frances Ann Walker, 88, of Orange, Texas, passed away on February 11, 2024, at Focused Care of Orange Assisted Living in Orange, Texas.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2024, at First United Pentecostal Church in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Gary Wheeler. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn cemetery in Orange. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on August 26, 1935, she was the daughter of Sam Houston Long and Lora Lynda Kerr Long. She was a lifelong resident of Orange and a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Orange. Frances worked as nurse for many years at Frances Ann Lutcher Hospital and Orange Memorial Hospital in the Departments of Pediatrics and Labor and Delivery. Frances was the second of four children of Sam and Lynda Long and an accomplished baker and well-known in her family for her willingness to make pecan pies, red velvet cake, poppyseed cake and peach cobbler for any occasion.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 35 years, Eulas “Bud” Walker, Jr., siblings, William Wayne Long, Juanita Merle Olsen, Carrol Ray Long, her daughter Lynda Ann Carmane, Granddaughter Erica Mozzola, and Step-son Bradley Walker.

Frances is survived by her loving son Rickey Wayne Guidry and wife, Marilyn, of Orange, five grandchildren, Wayne Thomas Guidry of Longview, Texas, Michael Paul Guidry of Orange, Texas, Brandon Lee Guidry of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Emily Estes, and Sylvia Burton of Azle, Texas. Four children of her husband Bud Walker, Michele Jackson of Oklahoma City, Meagan Hard, Craig Walker and Gary Jo Walker. Also surviving Frances are great-grandchildren, Rachelle Parker, Ty Parker, Jhonathon Carmane, Lilly Estes, Roland Guidry, Kenneth Williams, Jacob Burton, Joshua Burton, Dylan Gruber, Zachary Wellons, Sydney and Roman Guidry and great-great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Damon Mayfield, Kendall Pierce, Phillip Williams, Epi Mangum, Eddie Mace, and Fred Brunner.
