Phyllis M. Hebert, 63, of Orange, Texas, passed away on February 6, 2024, at home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange. Officiating will be Father Benjamin Vesuwe. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Picayune, Mississippi, on September 3, 1960, she was the daughter of Dewie Joseph Meyers and Josephine Elvie (Gaspard) Meyers. At a young age Phyllis and her family moved to New Iberia, LA where she was raised and graduated from NISH in 1978. Phyllis embraced life with an unparalleled enthusiasm, always finding joy in the simplest of things. She had a special place in her heart for her online community, where she formed lasting friendships and shared countless cherished memories. When it came to hobbies and interests, Phyllis had a true love for music and dancing. Even during exercise sessions, she would put on her favorite tunes and dance like nobody was watching. Another activity that brought Phyllis great pleasure was playing pool. She skillfully maneuvered the pool cue with confidence, creating thrilling moments filled with friendly competition. As much as Phyllis adored lively indoor activities, she had an undeniable love for spending time at the beach. She was a devout Catholic, and her faith was an integral part of her life. It brought her solace, hope, and a sense of purpose. Her vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and warm embrace will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dewie and Elvie Meyers; brother, James Meyers; and brother-in-law, Joseph Maturin. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 40 years, Ray Matthews Hebert; sons, Matthew Hebert and wife, Kara, and Nathan Hebert and wife, Amy; daughter, Dusty Tucker and husband, Kenny; fur baby, Lola; grandchildren, Dherin Wright, Layne Wright, Kai Welch, Kennedy Tucker, Kerbie Tucker, Charli Tucker, Josephine Hebert, Luca Hebert; sister, Barbara “Bobbi” Maturin; as well as numerous other loving family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Hebert, Nathan Hebert. Honorary pallbearers are Ron Hebert, Tory Hebert, Kenny Tucker, Robert BurdetteIn lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital. Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
