LCM tennis and Orangefield golf earn medals

Carson Forester of Little Cypress Mauriceville won first place in the boys division at the Kountze tennis tournament

Little Cypress Mauriceville participated in the Kountze Tennis Tournament on Friday, March 1. Two of the LCM team members brought home medals from the tournament.

Carson Forester won the first place gold medal in the boys singles division. In the girls singles division Lucia Montoto won the third place bronze medal.

Local high school boys golf teams traveled to the Babe Zaharias Golf Course in Port Arthur on Wednesday, February 28, to compete in the Nederland Invitational. Lincoln Parks shot a 75 to finish in second place in the individual competition.

The Bridge City A team led by Brayden Denison (85) and Luke Campbell (87) shot a team total of 355. One stroke behind them was the Orangefield team at 356 led by Lincoln Parks (75) and Cole Sanches (82). The Little Cypress Mauriceville team combined to shoot 366 led by Maddox Manual (85) and Carter Foreman (91). The Bridge City B team finished at 391 led by Kevin Cullum (87) and Drake Blackwell (92).

The girl golfers played at Babe Zaharias on Thursday, February 29, in that gender's Nederland Tournament. The Orangefield girls competed well. The first team shot a team total of 427 putting the 4th out of 12 teams overall and 1st out of district opponents. The second team shot a 460, putting them 6th overall and 2nd out of district opponents.

Individual scores included Rylie Kethan at 103 for thirteenth place and Jordyn Rucker with a 104 to finish fourteenth out of 82 participants. Other Lady Bobcats that played were Lela Francis (109), Abby Slaughter (111), Addi Moore (111), Emma Perriotte (114), Parker Donnaud (114), Blake Steele (115), Rilei Hass (120), and Destiny Johnson (124).
