Albertice Coy Morgan, 93, formerly of Bridge City

Albertice Coy Morgan, 93, previously of Bridge City, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at his granddaughter’s home in College Station, Texas.

Coy was born on February 1, 1931, in Orange, Texas, to Clovis and Gertie Morgan. He graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in 1950 and joined the U.S. Navy, where he fought in the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Rowan. In his younger years, Coy liked to rodeo.

He was a true cowboy and enjoyed working cattle at area ranches. Coy was an easy-going, kind soul that was easy to love. Coy enjoyed barbecuing and entertaining family and friends at home. His home was always welcome to everyone. He touched people of all ages as evidenced by the comments made to the Facebook posts announcing his passing. Coy made a living as a painter and was a very hard worker, not retiring until the age of 77.

Coy managed to take time to be involved in his community. He coached Bridge City Little League Baseball and was also involved in the Evening Optimist Club for several years.

Coy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Cupal; his brother Elmer Morgan; and his sister Mary Jones.

Survivors include his son Randy Morgan and wife, Melissa of Houston; his son Kevin Morgan and wife Diane of Tiki Island; and his daughter Missy Morgan of Gulfport.

He was loved and mourned by his granddaughter Stormi Morgan; his grandsons Keaton Stanley, Conner Morgan, and Kyle Morgan; his great granddaughters Kenzi Trahan and Khloe Morgan; as well as his sister Carolyn Williams; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Special thanks go to Stormi Morgan and Dane Savoie for caring for Coy as his health declined.

Funeral Services will be at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 1:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange on the same day.

Burial will follow services at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Pall Bearers will be Keaton Stanley, Conner Morgan, Kyle Morgan, Dane Savoie, Kadin Sims, and Roger Minner.

Western wear is encouraged for all who wish to attend.
