Orangefield golfers win district in girls and boys

The Orangefield girls golf team of Rylie Kethan, Jordyn Rucker, Abby Slaughter, Lela Francis, and Emma Pierrottie won their second straight district championship

The Orangefield girls and boys golf teams both captured district championships the first week of April at the Chambers County Golf Course. It was the second year in a row for the Orangefield girls to be champs and was a three peat for the boys of Orangefield in District 21-3A.

Lincoln Parks of Orangefield used a 71 on the second day to take first place in the boys individual district competition

The Lady Bobcats turned in a two day score of 864 to claim the district title. Rylie Kethan finished third overall in the girls individual competition. The team of Kethan, Jordyn Rucker, Abby Slaughter, Lela Francis, and Emma Pierrottie qualified for the regionals to be held in Brenham on April 17-18.

The third consecutive district title for Orangefield was achieved with a two day score of 734 by the five Bobcats. Lincoln Parks fired an 82 on the first day and shaved off eleven strokes on the second day for a 71 to finish with a total of 153 to capture the top spot in the district individual standings. Other members of the winning team were Cole Sanches (184), Zane Wrinkle (199), Peyton Revia (206), and Santiago Baca (214). The boys regional will be in Brenham on April 15-16.
