Danetta Elkins, 89, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on April 26, 2024, in Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Starks, Louisiana, on June 21, 1934, she was the daughter of Sherman Ashworth and Mary Johnson Ashworth. Danetta worked in home healthcare to help provide for her family. She had a passion for knitting doll clothes and creating beautiful baby blankets with her skilled hands. She also loved to quilt. Her devotion to the Lord was evident through her actions, having read her Bible over 25 times throughout her lifetime. She found joy in writing songs, singing, and playing the piano and autoharp. Her melodic voice and talents brought comfort and inspiration to many. A former longtime member of Pinehurst Pentecostal Church, Danetta's presence will be deeply missed by her Christian family and friends. She was known for her unwavering faith, compassionate spirit, and love for her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Mary Ashworth; her husband, Bobby Elkins; her son,

Darryl Woodward; her grandson Lynn Navarre and her 6 siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Heather Hughes and husband, Darrell of Mauriceville; her son, Willie Leon Woodward of Troup; her grandchildren, Virginia Hopkins and husband, M. James, Jr.of Vidor, Tabitha Woodward of Orange, Joseph Woodword Orange, Shelbie Briseno and husband, Danny of Mauriceville, Harlie Granger and husband, Drew of Venton, LA, Alexie Hughes of Mauriceville, Jacie Hughes of Mauriceville, Rylie Hughes of Mauriceville. Her grandbabies: Lakota Navarre, Cienna Briseno, Frieyah Caudle, Lucie Granger, Rhyker Caudle, baby Aiden Briseno, James Hopkins, and Angelique hopkins. A special thanks to her niece, Billie Jean Hofford. Her wish was for everyone to experience God's Grace. Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
