Parks played eighteen holes on both Monday and Tuesday, April 29-30, at the Grey Rock Golf Club in Austin. Parks finished his thirty-six holes at 144 just one stroke behind the winner Reed Blacklock of Lubbock Liberty.

Monday's round found Lincoln in second place with a 72 to trail Blacklock by three strokes who fired a 69 which was the lowest score in the two days at Grey Rock. Parks was two strokes better than two other golfers heading into Tuesday's final round.

On Tuesday Parks matched his opening score with another 72 which shaved two strokes off Blacklock's lead who shot a 74 as did three other contenders. Only Logan Houl of Diboll with his 71 returned a lower score than Parks on the second eighteen holes.

Coach Todd Trawhon expressed his excitement for Parks who is a junior and will have another year to grab a state championship. Lincoln's brother Xander Parks won the state championship last year when he was a senior at Orangefield.
