The state golf tournaments held the last two days of April for the boys and the first week of May for the girls concluded this year's UIL high school golf competition. It was a successful season for several local high school golfers in Orange County.

Two weeks ago Lincoln Parks of Orangefield took first runner up in the Class 3A boys competition. Parks, a junior, shot a 72 on both days of the tournament to finish at 144 just one stroke out first place.

The Orangefield Lady Bobcat golf team finished the girls two days of play at the ShadowGlen Golf Club in Manor on Tuesday, May 7. The Bobcat girls represented the orange and white very well on a very beautiful and challenging course. The Lady Bobcats ended their season as a Class 3A State Finalist after winning their second straight district championship.

Three seniors Lela Francis, Rylie Kethan, and Emma Pierrottie led the Orangefield girl golfers this year. Joining the golf team and contributing to its success were under classmen Abby Slaughter and Jordyn Rucker.
