Johny James, 71, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, at his home in Mauriceville surrounded by family, friends and his pastor.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 26, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. David Millner of Calvary Baptist Church in West Orange.

Born in Truscott, June 18, 1943, he was the son of Dale and Alverta James. Johny served in the United States Army and worked for many years as an electrician at IBEW Local 479. He loved being outdoors, especially working with and riding on his tractor or spending time at home with his family and animals.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David Vernon James and Billy Ray James; sister, Marie Hazel Whited and grandsons, Gabriel James Garza and Eric Wayne Luker.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Coleen James of Mauriceville; daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Johnny Garza of Anna, and Tresa and Aubrey Webb of Sam Rayburn; sons, Bobby James of Anna, and Dale Luker of Sycamore, Illinois; grandchildren, Justin Griffin, Mandy Luker, Madison Garza, Camron Luker, Mason Luker, Xander James, FinLee James and Payton Garza and great-grandchildren, Jacob Griffin and Townes Marcantel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 2402 Western Avenue, Orange, Texas 77630.
