Bridge City Mayor David Rutledge was recently recognized as a "Certified Municipal Official" by the Texas Municipal League (TML) and the Texas Association of Mayors, Councilmembers and Commissioners (TAMCC). This recognition is given annually to public officials who have completed at least 72 continuing education units (CEU's) in city governance, communications, federal and state legislation affecting cities, economic development, revenue and taxation issues, and other topics of interest to Texas municipalities.

TML is an association of 13,000-plus mayors, councilmembers, and city staff in 1,174 cities across Texas. At the Midyear Conference in San Marcos in March, Mayor Rutledge was 1 of only 30 members from around the state who were recognized with this honor.
