Six Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School students and the LCM Spelling and Vocabulary Team earned honors at the University Interscholastic League Academic Meet that was held at LCM on Saturday, January 26.

Erinn Callahan and Stephen Green won first and second places; respectively, in Feature Writing. Green also took third place in News Writing. Monica Hambrick took second in Literary Criticism; Cullen Maglothin came in first in Biology and sixth in Science; Tyler Evans claimed second in Spelling and Vocabulary; and the LCM team won second in the Spelling and Vocabulary Team contest.

Students from 16 school districts throughout southeast Texas participated in Saturday’s events. Stacey Smith is the UIL Coordinator for LCM.
