The TexasTransportation Commission recently approved nearly $6 million for safety projects throughout the eight-county Beaumont district.

Crabtree Barricade Systems, Inc. was awarded a nearly $75 thousand project to add centerline texturing and texturize shoulders along 12 miles of S. Hwy. 87 in Newton County.

A $2.8 million project to safety treat fixed objects throughout the district was awarded to L.C. Jordan & Sons.

APAC-Texas, Inc. was named the contractor for a $2.9 million project to provide additional paved width to 10 miles of FM1130 in Orange County.

“Safety is our number one goal at TxDOT. These projects are only a few of the many safety related projects that will be completed this year,” said Tucker Ferguson, district engineer or the Beaumont District of TxDOT.

All three projects will begin in two to four months.
